Language and culture

The geography and geographical location of Dighalia Upazila has played a role in shaping the language and culture of the people of this upazila. This upazila is located in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh and is surrounded by other upazilas of Jessore and Narail districts. The main feature of the language here is the same as in other upazilas of Bangladesh. Yet some variation is found. For example, in spoken language, mahapranadhvani is largely absent, i.e. there is a tendency to simplify the language. The languages of Khulna region, which is adjacent to the regional languages of Dighalia Atrai, Bhairab and Chitrandi upazilas, are very similar. Experts believe that the nature of the movement of the rivers has greatly influenced the behavior, food habits, language and culture of the people of Dighalia. A review of the history of this area shows that the civilization of Dighalia is very ancient. There are also small ethnic groups living in the area who have their own language and culture. Dighalia's contribution to the cultural sphere is also undeniable.
